Our Society was registered on 16th March 2004 and started operations in May 2004 being the first Multi-state co-operative society in Kerala and 175th pan India. From a humble beginning the society has made great progress within a span of twelve years. What makes the society different from others is its customer-friendly policies, relationship Banking and absence of complicated formalities for Banking transactions. All proposals for loans are disposed off within a maximum of 7 days. We believe that customer is the central focus of our business and the fulfillment of their needs is our ultimate goal. At present there are more than 6000 satisfied shareholders in the society hailing mainly from Kottayam, Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts in Kerala and Theni district in Tamil Nadu and a unique feature is that about 60% of the shareholders are farmers holding only one share with face value of Rs. 1000/-. We have been rewarding our members with reasonable dividends from the first full year of operations, without break.
Licence for Multi State Co Operative Credit Societies is issued by Central Registrar, Ministry of Agriculture and is under the direct control of the Central Registrar. The Society is grateful to the Central Registrar of Cooperatives for their valuable guidance and to officials of the Department of Agriculture and Co-operation of the Central Agricultural Ministry and National Co Operative Union of India (NCUI) and the Department of Co operative Societies of the State for their support and cooperation.
Sahyadri Society is on a steady growth track and the upward journey is unchecked in spite of the storms in the financial sector. The membership is expected to cross 7000 before the year end.
The Society is indebted to His Excellency Mar Mathew Arackal for his guidance and the Diocese of Kanjirapally for the infrastructure provided and for the support that has been extended all along.
The members of the Society have been the pillars on which the edifice of the Society has been built and sustained. The faith and trust reposed and the unstinted support extended by the esteemed members have all along been a source of encouragement for the Society and the Board expresses its profound sense of gratitude for their wholehearted support.
